Summary:

Responsible for data wrangling, statistical programming, and providing data analytical service and support for various clinical, biomedical, and health services research projects. The role requires expertise in basic biostatistical methods, proficiency in statistical software, and a growing familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) applications in healthcare research.


Principal Functional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and researchers to design and analyze biomedical and health-related studies.
  • Perform data management, cleaning, and transformation to prepare datasets for statistical analysis.
  • Conduct statistical analyses using basic biostatistical methods such as regression, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, and longitudinal data analysis.
  • Develop custom statistical programs and scripts to automate analyses and support large-scale research projects.
  • Assist in the interpretation, visualization, and presentation of results for reports, publications, and grant applications.
  • Provide statistical consultation and technical support to faculty, medical staff, and research teams.
  • Stay current with emerging AI methods relevant to biostatistics and healthcare research.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming using R, SAS , or Python.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets in healthcare or biomedical research.
  • Solid understanding of basic biostatistical methods, including regression, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, and longitudinal data analysis.
  • Familiarity with AI techniques and machine learning applications in healthcare research.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic health records ( EHR ) data and clinical trial analysis.
  • Knowledge of Bayesian methods, causal inference, or predictive modeling.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and data visualization tools.
  • Previous experience in an academic or medical research setting.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment.
