POSITION: Digital Imaging Associate LOCATION: The Library Center - 4653 S Campbell Avenue - Springfield, MO Classification: Part Time Pay Rate: Library Specialist I FLSA Status: Non-exempt SALARY: $16.34 per hour APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until Filled This is a part-time position, approximately 24 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work any hours the library branch is open, Monday through Thursday 8:30am-9:00pm, Friday 8:30am-8:00pm, Saturday 8:30am-7:00pm and Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm. As a condition of employment, work schedules may change as necessary to best provide user services and to meet the Librarys responsibility to the citizens of Greene County. This role involves operating and maintaining digital imaging equipment, digitizing and editing images using specialized software and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of metadata associated with the digital assets. The associate may also assist with image retrieval and database management, as well as collaborate with other departments to support digital preservation initiatives. Attention to detail, proficiency in digital imaging technologies, and a commitment to preserving and showcasing cultural heritage materials are essential for success in this role. Essential Functions Converts historical images into electronic formats using scanners, digital cameras, and other technology Uses Adobe Photoshop and other electronic media editing software to edit digital assets Creates descriptive information (metadata) for digital assets Conducts historical research and develops context for the digital collection Conducts quality control checks on the digital collection Collaborates with other Library staff to complete the digital imaging project Must properly and responsibly handle rare materials Interprets and implements the Librarys General Conduct Policy Timeliness: The employee must be punctual and timely in arriving to work and completing tasks. The employee must also be capable of working all of the hours in their assigned shift.
