Job Description

Job description

Make an Impact in the Lives of Youth!

Are you passionate about empowering youth to grow in their faith, leadership, and service? Do you believe in creating inclusive environments that celebrate diversity and nurture the unique gifts of every individual? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Youth Ministry Director to join our team and provide leadership for our youth group and volunteers.

At MSPC, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and diverse community where all young people—regardless of background, identity, or experience—can grow in their faith, discover their potential, and build lasting relationships. If you are excited to help young people of all backgrounds flourish in their walk with Christ, we invite you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning & Leadership

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate Christian Formation, Fellowship, and Mission activities that promote leadership, teamwork, and personal growth, while being mindful of the diverse experiences and needs of the youth we serve.
  • Plan and lead workshops and events that create a safe and inclusive environment where youth can explore their faith and grow in their understanding of God's love for all people.
  • Organize and lead a one-week mission trip annually, fostering service, community engagement, and cultural awareness.

Safety & Well-Being

  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all youth participants, embracing diversity and enforcing child-safety policies.
  • Serve as a role model of responsible behavior, respect for others, and community service. Provide guidance and encouragement to youth in their personal, academic, and social development in an inclusive, respectful way.

Communication & Community Engagement

  • Maintain open, transparent communication with parents and volunteers regarding program plans, needs, and events through weekly emails, social media, and other channels.
  • Organize 1-2 Parent/Volunteer meetings per semester to foster communication and collaboration within the community, and ensure that all voices are heard and valued.
  • Promote positive relationships and engagement within the broader MSPC community, encouraging collaboration with other programs, and welcoming diverse perspectives and experiences.

Conflict Resolution & Crisis Intervention

  • Assist youth in resolving conflicts and developing conflict resolution skills in a way that respects diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Be prepared to address crises or emergencies involving youth, and refer youth/parents to the Senior Pastor or other appropriate resources when needed.

Budget Management

  • Assist with preparing and managing the Youth Ministry budget in collaboration with the Christian Formation Committee and MSPC staff.

Meetings & Professional Development

  • Participate in regular Christian Formation Committee meetings and attend Session meetings as needed.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth opportunities through seminars and conferences related to Youth Ministry (approval required from the Senior Pastor for attendance).

Accountability & Performance Review

  • The Youth Ministry Director reports directly to the Senior Pastor and collaborates with the Christian Formation and Personnel Committees.
  • An annual performance review will be conducted by the Senior Pastor in cooperation with the Personnel Committee.

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to Christian values, inclusivity, and the mission of the church.
  • Previous experience in youth ministry or leadership roles with diverse groups of young people preferred.
  • A deep understanding of and respect for the diversity of youth backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all youth.
  • A passion for fostering the personal, academic, social, and spiritual growth of young people.
  • A willingness to engage in continuous professional development and learning.
