Are you a top-flight litigation associate attorney in CA with 1-5 years of experience who is interested in gaining experience trying cases, writing and arguing dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, writing appellate briefs, directly interacting with clients, taking on more case responsibility, and the like? Summary

Going on 13 years in business, Caulfield Law Firm has emerged as a premier small law firm in Northern California representing public entity and business clients in a variety of civil litigation matters. The attorneys here are Big Law transplants. We try cases when necessary and defend successful outcomes on appeal. The Firm is growing, and we are looking for a junior associate attorney to round out our team in 2025.

Role Description

• Full-time, hybrid; preferred 3 days in office, but willing to consider fully remote after initial period
• Candidates will be responsible for communicating with clients, conducting legal research, drafting and responding to discovery, drafting law and motion papers, arguing motions in Court, trying cases as second or third chair (to start), and handling other day-to-day tasks required of litigation files
• Minimum billable requirement is 1750 hours per year

Qualifications

• Must have an active license with the California State Bar (no exceptions)
• Excellent brief writing skills
• Strong research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience arguing motions in court a plus
• Trial experience a plus
• Appellate experience a plus
