Job Description

Thompson First Group is seeking a Machine Operator for a contract to hire position with a local client in Aston, PA.

Candidates that have experience setting up, changing over and operating industrial production equipment are encouraged to apply. 

Job Description:

• Fabricates plastic rods, slabs, and sheets in accordance with Shop Orders.
• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
• Reads and interprets Shop Orders
• Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
• Use of grinders and dowlers needed
• Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, doweling tools and planers
• Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machine
• Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Possesses ability to track parts and jobs
• Utilizes and abides by all safety procedures
• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

Skills required:

• Operation of manual lathes, drill presses, doweling tools and other shop machines
• Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds and machining techniques
• Basic math and computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Mechanical ability
• Proper use of hand and power tools
• Basic awareness of electricity and the risks attached
• Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her

Schedule:

• 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday
