General Job Description

Dogwood Industries LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Management System Manager to lead the development, implementation, and integration of a company-wide Quality Management System (QMS). This individual will play a key role in fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement, creating a foundation for operational excellence.

As a champion for quality, the QMS Manager will collaborate with stakeholders across Dogwood, ensuring that quality processes are embedded into daily operations, not just as a compliance requirement, but as a driver of long-term success. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building quality systems from the ground up, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and has a passion for creating a scalable, sustainable quality culture.

The ideal candidate has led a QMS implementation initiative in a custom manufacturing or engineer-to-order environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is excited about building and refining a scalable quality framework that aligns with Dogwood's production needs.

Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of a company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) to establish a culture of quality and continuous improvement
  • Develop, document, and standardize QMS policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency across all functions
  • Engage with leadership and department managers to integrate quality practices into daily operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to define and document department-specific procedures, ensuring alignment with QMS requirements
  • Act as the driving force behind a culture of quality, fostering employee engagement and ownership of quality at all levels
  • Lead training and development initiatives to equip employees with the tools to understand, implement, and sustain QMS practices
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and systematic approaches to problem-solving
  • Oversee the corrective action process ensuring that issues are addressed and resolved
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing and working in quality systems, with prior QMS implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of engineered-to-order manufacturing processes
  • Passion for building a culture of quality and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Exceptional documentation, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience in the steel fabrication industry a plus
  • Experience using Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, root cause analysis methodologies a plus

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

This position requires moderate physical activity in a manufacturing and office environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently seated at a computer desk, is utilizing a cell phone, and participating in meetings with colleagues. Walking extended distances from location to location in the factory complex and meeting with people in noisy or congested areas will be a common occurrence. The employee must be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 40 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.

Compensation

$90,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location

This position is based out of the Dogwood Everett Factory Office at 3200 35th AVE NE, Everett, WA 98201. This role is based at our physical location, and in-person attendance is required. Travel to Dogwood's Corporate office in Bothell and Sedro-Woolley Factory may be required.
