MISSION STATEMENTThe mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.
SUMMARYProvides technical assistance in carrying out various research projects. Machine learning or Artificial intelligence is being used for abdominal organ segmentation. This position will help to evaluate and implement these newer techniques.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESConducts research experiments. Identification of appropriate clinical cases for evaluation using these techniques.
Assign tumor staging according to recognized guidelines with minimal oversight of faculty and/or research staff.
Data gathering and analysis. Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested.
Data collection from hospital information system.
Literature search for research protocols.
Prepare Research Publications.
Assist in drafting grant proposals to obtain funding for further research.
Designing educational exhibits and writing abstracts and manuscripts.
Draft preliminary IRBs.
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTSEducation Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred Education: Some Graduate School.
Certification Required: None
Preferred Certification: None
Experience Required: Two years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
Preferred Experience: Post-residency radiology experience in scientific and experimental research work.
