Job Description

Company Description

agencyEZ (AEZ) is a pioneering SaaS platform provider in the employee benefits industry, serving a diverse range of clients, including insurance carriers, broker agencies, and aggregators. Our platform streamlines the entire value chain from Quote to Cash (QtC) for small to large employer benefit administrators, distributed through brokers. As a self-funded startup with a profitable track record over the past six years, we are on the cusp of raising our Series B funding. Our core intellectual property offers a 10x productivity competitive advantage, setting us apart in the B2B and SaaS sectors. With a vision to become the "Apple of SaaS," we are among the first in our industry to fully integrate Generative AI into our application suite. We deliver new features at lightning speed, releasing two updates per week to our AWS-hosted cloud platform, ensuring both innovation and quality in a high-productivity environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid (New England area in-person / remote) position for a Senior Product Development Engineer (PE) at agencyEZ. This role requires a combination of strong technical skills and enterprise B2B product development skills in a SaaS company.

The ideal candidate will have the following important skills:

1) Natural fluency in coding in Java and related technologies, including:

  • REST Architecture, Open API, OpenAI (GPT) integration
  • JSON/XML/Excel/PDF processing using Java
  • Application security with a grasp of encryption technologies
  • AWS infrastructure experience (BeanStalk, EC2, VPC, AWS Security, MySQL RDS, etc.) for SaaS product development
  • Ability to leverage GPT for coding and rapid product build productivity
  • Understanding of Machine Learning models, AI agents and their business applications and any demonstrated experience in this area is a plus.

In this role, you will work closely with the Product Manager and other engineering team members, gaining invaluable insights and contributing directly to the company’s SaaS platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role involves contributing personally to coding the business application product and ensuring overall product quality as we expand the team.
  • Lead Generative AI and Machine Learning adoption in the platform and overall AI infusion into every aspect of our SaaS suite.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in problem-solving and bringing solutions to market quickly, even under constraints.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of progressive engineering experience with a proven track record in a B2B SaaS product environment or consumer-oriented software product company.
  • A high GPA in an undergraduate Computer Science degree from a top school, coupled with SaaS product development experience, is preferred.
  • Public-facing credentials such as technical authorship, white papers, GitHub or open-source contributions would be a plus.
  • Experience with publicly available products you have led or been involved with is another way we can evaluate your work.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • While we respect work-life balance, this role requires full commitment in a high-pressure startup environment. We seek someone focused solely on this role and not juggling other jobs.

Work Authorization Requirement

At this time, we can only hire U.S. citizens or Green Card holders.

Location

New England (Greater Boston and nearby States) area is preferred but other locations can be considered for qualified candidates.

We offer the ability to work from home, flexible schedule, and no particular restriction on time off.

Salary and Benefits

Compensation is negotiable for the right and exceptional candidate:

  • $160K - $170K annual salary + 10-15% quarterly cash bonus
  • Equity stock in the company
  • Benefits and 401K contribution
