Position : Sales Representative for selling Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products.

Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Sales Representative to join our team. This role will focus on developing and executing strategies to generate and qualify leads, conduct sales presentations, and build long-lasting relationships with martial arts academies, with an emphasis on taekwondo centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation : Identify and engage potential customers through various channels such as cold calling, email outreach, social media, and in-person visits, especially targeting martial arts schools in Texas and neighboring states.
  • Sales Presentations & Demos : Deliver tailored product demos and presentations that highlight how Surge’s SaaS solutions address the unique needs of dojo owners and instructors—focusing on pain points like class tracking, belt promotions, and auto-billing.
  • Consultative Selling : Understand the customer’s challenges and use the features of our platform to offer practical solutions that drive business efficiency and growth.
  • Lead Qualification : Engage with leads to qualify their needs and ensure they align with our target customer profile, driving successful conversions.
  • Sales Process Management : Own and manage the full sales cycle—from lead qualification to deal closure. This includes tracking and updating opportunities in the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups, and meeting targets for client onboarding, revenue growth, and deal size.
  • Relationship Building : Establish and nurture long-term relationships with dojo owners and instructors, ensuring smooth transitions from prospect to loyal customer.
  • Negotiation & Closing : Lead pricing discussions, negotiate contracts, and close sales to consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Customer Feedback & Reporting : Collect feedback from customers to refine our offerings, working closely with the product and support teams to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration : Partner with the marketing, product, and customer success teams to refine lead generation strategies, improve conversion rates, and enhance customer retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+Yrs of experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in SaaS sales or a similar sales environment for small to mid-sized businesses.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with SaaS business models and subscription-based sales cycles.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho).
  • Goal-driven with a history of consistently exceeding sales quotas.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Passion for or experience in the taekwondo/martial arts space, whether through professional work, personal interest, or active participation.
  • Experience in selling to small, independently owned businesses.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 300+ taekwondo academies over time), as this is not a remote role.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SaaS products in the sports industry.
  • Familiarity with sales automation tools and lead generation platforms.
