Job Summary:
Under the guidance and of the Director of Supply Chain, the Warehouse Manager leads the Warehouse/Distribution department which includes Dry & FG Receiving, Inventory, Replenishment and Shipping, in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures all orders are picked/packed correctly and in line with Quality/Safety standards and shipped on-time in direct partnership with Customer Service & Logistics/Traffic. The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes, control and directs, within all areas of responsibility. The incumbent collaborates with Inventory Control and other departments to manage appropriate stock levels in raw and packaging materials and maintains efficiency of all operations while maintaining overall operating budget. Ensures adherence our values: Integrity, Ownership, Collaboration and Respect. The main objective of the Warehouse Manager is to increase operational efficiency and ensure a safe environment.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, safety, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes
- Establish, implement and uphold best-in-class receiving/shipping processes. Ensure that polices, safety rules, FSMA standards and GMP’s are followed and enforced, and that continual improvement is made towards an injury free environment. Ensure operations are in conjunction with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements
- Plan layout of warehouse to ensure safety and efficiency, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Develop, implement and uphold department KPIs; review results for the week, including efficiency, overtime and expenses.
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
- Competent in utilizing Warehouse Management Systems.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement culture in the facility through leading Kaizen and other LEAN Events
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Work closely with Customer Success & Traffic/Logistics to ensure all company standard service levels.
- Supervise, plan, and coordinate the activities of the warehouse team members and allocates job assignments to ensure shipment demands are accomplished efficiently, following up on work results.
- Prepare receiving reports, shipping documents, bills of lading, and returned goods authorizations as needed.
- Manage all Finished Goods product using FIFO to ensure items do not expire or become infested.
- Manage department inventory and communicate accordingly on any discrepancies found.
- Train team on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
- Develop, mentor, and manage staff to build & upscale internal talent. Nurture successful performance, drive accountability, and develop a winning team.
- Support positive employee relations, fair treatment and respect in all aspects of interaction with employees; address employee concerns/requests in a timely and caring manner; insures all employees and ideas are respected and valued and their unique and diverse perspectives are leveraged to improve business results.
- Implement and execute department-related workflows, systems, and processes that support organizational objectives, company core values, cost management, and customer (internal and external) satisfaction.
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of machinery, labor, and materials.
- Lead and direct the workforce in problem identification, problem solving and implementing continuous improvement measures.
- Maintain a consistent presence on the warehouse floor to observe, monitor and distribute work to team members.
- Coordinate shipments daily: Scheduling, preparing schedule and invoice orders.
- Monitor statistics pertinent to department productivity and service standards (truck log).
- Reconcile pallets and preparing billing paperwork for accounting (daily).
- Cross training for backup personnel.
- Participate in production recall program.
- Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping, inventory control practices and logistics.
- Comfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications.
- Must be willing and able to travel to secondary warehouse location in Corona, CA based on business needs.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain management or business preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of management experience in End-to-End Supply Chain Operations in a fast-paced environment required
- 5+ years’ experience in a food production environment preferred
- Experience working in a union environment preferred
- Multi-site experience preferred
- LEAN and/or continuous improvement experience
- Customer-Facing experience
- Forklift experience strongly preferred
- Experience in freight negotiations on dry, shelf stable, refrigerate and frozen.
- Knowledge and experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Knowledge and experience with Oracle software applications and systems strongly preferred
- Must have the ability to speak, read, write and comprehend in English
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Freight & intermodal experience required
- Multi-site experience a plus, but not required
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Able to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in working with teams including cross-functional teams
- Proven Leadership and team-building skills
- Functional Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excellent organization and analytical skill

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Daily onsite presence required
- The majority of the work will be performed in a manufacturing plant setting with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and chemicals.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to work weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts, when necessary, based on business needs.
