Job Description

Summary:

The Automation Technician plays a pivotal role in the successful installation of BAS equipment . With a primary focus on training apprentices, this role involves imparting knowledge and skills while overseeing the installation process. Key responsibilities include timely installation of BAS equipment, running conduit and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders such as MACC team, customers, and other contractors. The Technician operates within established safety protocols, utilizing their expertise to ensure efficient and accurate installations. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and deliver high-quality results in BAS installations .

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the proper installation of equipment and devices in adherence to NEC, NFPA regulations and provided drawings / schematics.
  • Meet designated timeline and adhere to job start and end dates consistently.
  • Always demonstrate professionalism, serving as a representative of MACC.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing hand tools, encompassing electrical, battery-powered, and blaster-style tools.
  • Execute conduit run layout, encompassing in-wall placements, chases, and riser pipes.
  • Determine the most efficient wiring / cabling route from device to device.
  • Maintain communication with the General Contractor / Project Management regarding planned activities for each day.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment and maintain the company vehicle in optimal condition.
  • Submit completed timesheets accurately and on time for both oneself and apprentice(s).
  • Provide training and mentorship to apprentices.

Required Skills:

  • Current State Electrical or HVAC Journeyman License
  • 4 – 6 years of recent HVAC experience
  • 2-5+ years of experience with BAS (Building Automation Systems)
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Familiarity with HVAC system devices and components.
  • Comprehensive understanding of low-voltage control systems, including 24-volts, 0-10 volts and 4-20 milliamps.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer)
