Job Description

The Corporate Design Engineering (CDE) department serves as the Design Authority for all six of our client’s nuclear sites. CDE is accountable for executing a fleet-wide design portfolio that supports risk reduction, addresses equipment obsolescence, and drives plant modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes. Areas include Stress, Structural, Dynamic/Seismic Analysis, and Steel/Concrete Design.
  • Investigate engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions.
  • Support engineering changes through work order reviews, CAP assignments, and field implementation activities.
  • Prepare or update design/procurement specifications and technical requirement documents.
  • Perform or revise complex engineering calculations related to design changes.
  • Develop licensing evaluations to support engineering modifications.
  • Update impacted site documents, including design basis, drawings, and regulatory documents.

Basic Qualifications

Nuclear Engineer III

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master’s degree may substitute).
  • 4–6 years of engineering experience, including at least 1 year in the nuclear industry.

Senior Nuclear Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master’s may substitute).
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering experience, or 5 years with a PE license.
  • At least 1 year of nuclear industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
