Job Title: Senior Planner

Location: Hollywood, FL

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: $100,000 – $135,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join our Planning & Development Department. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing planning assignments, guiding junior planners, and supporting the implementation of Capital Improvement Projects across residential and commercial developments. This position is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented planning professional looking for a long-term opportunity to lead meaningful projects and contribute to the growth of our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute planning projects, including site plans, land use mapping, and property access coordination
• Manage and mentor planning staff, ensuring quality and consistency of work
• Facilitate the home site application process, including research and interdepartmental coordination
• Collaborate with the GIS Manager and Planning Director to create digital tools that track Capital Improvement Projects
• Develop 3D models and planning resources to support facility management
• Review and establish rights-of-way and set-aside applications for residential and business developments
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and tribal regulations
• Assist in the preparation and updates of long-range planning documents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree and/or AICP certification preferred)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in urban and regional planning or related disciplines
• Supervisory experience and experience with Capital Improvement Plans preferred
• Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software required (GISP certification preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and related software tools
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required
