Job Description:  

We are looking for a Water and Wastewater Operator to oversee the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of commercial water and wastewater systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water treatment processes, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of clean water and the proper treatment of wastewater.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment and wastewater systems to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections, sampling, and testing of water and wastewater to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and control systems.
• Maintain accurate records of system operations, maintenance activities, and compliance reports.
• Respond to emergencies, such as system failures or spills, and take corrective action as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and management to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, best practices, and advancements in water and wastewater treatment technologies.

Qualifications:

• Valid [State] Water and/or Wastewater Operator Certification (e.g., Class I, II, or III). (Preferred - will train/certify)
• Experience in water and wastewater operations or plumbing preferred.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and system diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, digging and working in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
